What is Tax Linx?

Tax Linx is a tool for income tax preparers that organizes links to myriad tax references for quick access while completing a tax return or during training.  It is intended to be used by volunteer preparers in the VITA and TCE programs, sponsored by the IRS.  Tax Linx organizes the links in a menu structure that starts with 7 broad categories and branches downward to the specific link you are looking for.

AARP’s Tax-Aide has a large number of potential users, for whom Tax Linx would be less useful if it did not link to the rather voluminous library of materials that are for AARP Use Only.  Tax Linx contains those links but they are restricted to Tax-Aide volunteers only.  To gain access to AARP Materials, you must register, be affirmed a Tax-Aide Volunteer, and be logged in.  There is also a further restriction on material intended only for Tax-Aide Volunteers in Cecil and Kent Counties, Maryland.
